I-35, Kyle Crossing and downtown: Kyle’s business districts

Kyle grew from 28,016 people in the 2010 census to 45,697 in 2020, and much of its big retail sits along I-35. Kyle Economic Development counts an average of 120,000 cars a day on the interstate. Kyle Crossing, at I-35 and FM 1626, has 2 million square feet of retail anchored by H-E-B Plus!, Target, Kohls and Lowes. The Dry River District, 65 acres beside I-35, is anchored by EVO Entertainment and Home Depot and includes Costco and over 300,000 square feet of retail.

If you lease space in a centre like these, ask your landlord or property manager what is allowed on the building first. Then text us the address and say who manages it.

Downtown Kyle is a different job. Kyle Economic Development says it is anchored by Texas Pie Company and other local eateries, with a recent focus on renovating City Square Park. The city’s events page lists Holiday on the Square downtown in early December, and our installs start October 20, well ahead of it.

Plum Creek is the other big commercial address. It is a 2,200-acre master-planned community with mixed-use zoning, and the Brick and Mortar District at Plum Creek is planned to host restaurants, lifestyle retail and offices.

Does Kyle have lighting rules for a business?

The City of Kyle has lighting rules for commercial properties, and we check the city’s requirements before every install. Your lease is a separate matter, so check it for anything your landlord requires.

If you have a question about your own property, ask the city’s planning staff, then text us the address and who manages the building.

How an after-hours install works on a Kyle lot

We use LED Christmas lights in warm white or colour, custom cut to your roofline so no wire shows. We install and take them down outside business hours, so your doors stay open and your lot stays clear. Installs start October 20, and takedown happens after New Year’s.

When the season ends, the lights are boxed and packed for you to keep. Pratt does not store lights, so you will need space for the boxes. Tree lighting is available on request and quoted separately. Walkway, driveway and landscape-border lighting are available too.

If a management company looks after your building, send its name with the address. Text the address and Pratt will tell you what the timing looks like. See the full commercial Christmas lighting service or the commercial service area, then send the address for a free quote.
